Basel and Beyond: Four Photographs, Three Cities

I am very pleased to be part of Basel and Beyond, the 2026 exhibition of the Street Photography Club Basel (SPCB) at Galerie Katapult.

For the exhibition, I have selected four photographs taken in three very different cities and at very different moments in my photographic journey:

King of America — 2026, Basel, Switzerland

Stillness in Motion — 2025, Istanbul, Turkey

Between the Lines — 2025, Istanbul, Turkey

Waiting for a Face — 2017, New York City, USA

Together, these images span almost a decade of my street photography, from New York to Istanbul and back home to Basel. What connects them is what continues to fascinate me about photography in public space: observing people, light, movement and composition, and recognizing those brief moments when seemingly ordinary scenes become something more.

Basel and Beyond brings together the individual perspectives of photographers from the Street Photography Club Basel, showing how differently we see and interpret life around us, in Basel and across the world.

I would be delighted to welcome you to the exhibition, and especially to meet you during one of the events accompanying it. Alongside the exhibition itself, there will be a Vernissage, a Finissage and a series of artist talks, offering opportunities to meet the exhibiting photographers, hear the stories behind the photographs and exchange thoughts about street photography.

My artist talk is scheduled for Friday, September 25th at 7PM.

Vernissage: Friday, 18 September, 17:00–19:00

Finissage: Sunday, 27 September, from 17:00
